How Business Owners Can Utilize The Extra Time They Have

We are in a time of great uncertainty, with a lot of small businesses having to shut their doors unless they are a critical business due to COVID-19. This has led to a lot of small business owners worrying about their future and left with little to do. However, this is not a time to wallow in the uncertainty but utilize the free time a lot of us now have to our advantage. Below are some things that you can be doing to utilize your time that will benefit your business in the long run and allow you to hit the ground running when things are back to normal.

Up your social media game

Often for smaller businesses, social media isn’t always a priority due to little resources and lack of time. However, social media is a great tool for businesses to have and is a great way to improve your brand awareness. Use this free time to either set up social media accounts or make your existing ones much better. Do market research to find what others are doing that you could be and find new and creative things to put on your social media. Doing this can help build your brand awareness whilst you are unable to be open, so that when things are back open more people will know about you.

Do the bigger, boring tasks

As a small business there are always tasks that aren’t so important and are quite big that get left on the back burner. Now is your time to get these done. Whether this is sorting out your stock cupboard, re decorating your office or shop or simply doing any admin tasks that usually take a long time. You might not normally get the time to do these things, so now is a better time than any. It will put you in a better position when you are finally ready to open again.

Sort out your website

A lot of companies all over the world are now unable to operate in the ways they normally do. Now is a time where we need to adapt and find new ways that we can still do business. Whether that be that now you need to do home deliveries of your products or offer new products and services that you wouldn’t normally that can be consumed online instead.
